# 1. Ballet Shoes
The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about ballet dance is the ballet shoes. Usually, black or white shoes are worn by men and pink-colored shoes are worn by women. Skin-colored shoes are also available, which gives an illusion that the dancer is dancing bare foot.

# 2. Check Fitting and Size
An ideal shoe is the one that fits properly, i.e., the one which fits the dancer's foot like hand gloves. A ballet shoe should have enough free space for the toe to move freely. A loose-fitting shoe can disturb the performance of the dancer.

# 3. The Material Matters
The selection of a shoes’ material determines its life. The ballet shoes usually come in three different materials, i.e. leather, canvas, and satin.
  • Leather ballet shoes - These shoes are expensive and durable. The comforts of leather ballet shoes can be felt over the wooden flooring.
  • Canvas ballet shoes - These shoes are cheaper than leather ballet shoes and are washable, but they do not last long. They are preferred for practicing over vinyl flooring.
  • Satin ballet shoes - These ballet shoes are usually preferred during the performance because of its aesthetics. These shoes cannot be used on a regular basis because they can get dirty easily and torn too.
